The development of Baxter Senior Living in Anchorage received a significant boost today with the revelation that it has secured full funding for the finished development of its assisted living residences, amenities, and funding
Anchorage, Alaska,– September 6, 2018 – Senior citizens and their families today welcomed the news that Alaska’s newest, largest senior care community is now powering through to an opening, scheduled for August of 2019.
The development means that Anchorage is finally getting the senior assisted living community that Alaska’s biggest city has been clamoring for – a true 21st-century facility that offers choice, personalization, and a high quality of life close to home.
“There is a huge demand for a new, high-quality assisted living community in Anchorage – for too long, Alaskans and their families have had to look to the Lower 48 to find senior living communities which fully met their needs. We’re delighted to say that this is all set to change,” JR Wilcox, president of Baxter Senior Living.

Baxter Senior Living is fully financed, having secured a $20.1 million loan for the project’s construction and permanent financing. The loan was arranged by Love Funding and financed by a lending participation between Midland States Bank and First National Bank Alaska.
With full funding acquired, a foundation in the ground, and structural steel on-site the project is set to make rapid progress over the next several months – senior residents and their families are already reserving rooms.
